Our 20th Anniversary issue has arrived.
American
Literary Review is delighted to announce the publication of our special
20th Anniversary Issue. This issue is a record-breaker for ALR in both its
page count (stacking in at 200+ pages) and its wealth of contributors - 38
authors and artists from all around the globe.
Featured in the beginning of the issue are the winning selections in our
annual fiction, nonfiction and poetry contests.

The American Literary Review is excited to announce its
2009 contest winners:
- Fiction: Marylee MacDonald, "Finding
Peter"
- Nonfiction:
Julie Wade, "Prom Date"
- Poetry: Arthur Brown, "Defenders of
Wildlife: Florida Manatees"
Each winner received $1,000 and publication in our 20th Anniversary
Issue.
Andrew Feld judged in poetry, Molly Giles judged in
fiction, and Bill Roorbach judged in creative nonfiction. Thank
you for your patience as we carefully considered all submissions. Our
thanks to all entrants and our congratulations to the winners.
- Three prizes of $1,000 each and publication in the American
Literary Review
will be given for a poem, a short story, and an
essay.
- Submit up to three poems, a short story of up to 8,000 words, or
an essay
of up to 6,500 words with a $15 entry fee by October 1,
2010.
