James Baird
Dr. James Baird (Ph. D. University of
Washington, 1967; M.A. Harvard University, 1963; B.A. University
of Texas at Austin, 1962) specializes in American Literature
after 1870 and Playing the Jackanapes.
Dr. Baird teaches classes in the Short
Story, American Novel, American Literature after 1865, Afro-American
Literature, the Lyrics of Bob Dylan, The Blues, Carlos Castaneda,
Popular Culture, Novels into Film, American Realism, American
Environmental Writers, and the California Transcendentalists.
Dr. Baird is a member of the Board of Directors of the Robinson
Jeffers Association and has published his work in
Jeffers Studies.
