Sandra Spencer
Sandra L. Spencer, (Ph.D., 1996, University
of North Texas), lecturer, specializes in Victorian Literature
with secondary specialties in Romantic Literature and Women's
Studies.
Dr. Spencer's articles have appeared in
journals such as Victorian Periodicals
Review and Women's Writing.
She has written bibliographic essays on Joseph Cottle and
Isabella Beeton which appear in Dictionary
of Literary Biography and British
Women Nineteenth- Century Writers. She has published
an online article for The Dickens Project on Our
Mutual Friend.
In September 2002, Dr. Spencer became the
Director of Women's
Studies at UNT. She continues to teach English courses
as well as courses in Women's Studies. Her favorite courses,
"Jane Austen" and "Women and Work,"
can be used as credit in either English or Women's Studies.
