My areas of expertise are in rhetoric and writing, and my research and teaching focus on rhetorical history, historiography, feminist rhetorics, and community writing. In my research, I use archival and historical methods to investigate 19th and 20th century women's rhetorics about labor, place, and protest. I am currently working on a book-length manuscript project about women's labor rhetorics and spaces for solidarity in an industrial city during the Progressive Era. Portions of this project have recently appeared in Rhetoric Review and Rhetoric Society Quarterly. I joined the UNT faculty in fall 2018.
